What is A Merle Pitbull?

In News by IsaacLeave a Comment

A Merle Pitbull is an American bully dog with a coat unique from other pit bull breeds. The Merle coat has one solid color and spots or blotches of a different color. It is not to be confused with a Brindle pitbull which has a solid color and lines, instead of dots, of a different color.

A Merle pitbull is rare because the coat color is not common in American bully breeding. American bully breeders have to specifically breed for this specific coat color to achieve it in the resulting litter.

This is why a Merle pitbull puppy can fetch higher prices than other pitbull colors. That is why owning a Manmade Merle will make you the envy of other pit bull owners!

Merle Pitbull Appearance

Merle pitbull puppies are born with a two-colored coat. The base color is either solid or piebald then mottled with blotches of a different color. The Merle coat is quite rare because Pitbull breeders stopped experimenting with it a long time ago. Besides achieving a unique colored coat, other health complications can occur as a result of the gene mutation responsible for the Merle look.

Manmade Merles: XL Pitbulls

Fortunately, technology has advanced and American bully breeders have gathered enough knowledge to experiment with this rare pitbull coat again. We at Manmade Kennels already have something cooking.

Through our Manmade Merles project, we are going to revolutionise the art of Merle pitbull breeding. We took the time to study the Merle gene and evaluated the goods and bads of breeding Merle pitbull puppies for sale.

We are confident that we will produce the best Merle pitbull puppies yet. Our pitbull puppies will have strong bodies, big heads, big muscles, and great temperaments.

Still on appearance, expect the Merle pitbull males to be larger than the females. The males measure 17 to 20 inches from the shoulder and weigh between 35 and 60 pounds. The females grow to a height of 16 to 19 inches and weigh between 30 and 50 pounds.

Do Merle Pitbulls Have Health Issues?

Merles are only different from other Pitbulls because of coat color. Deep down, they are American bullies with the same health issues faced by the pit bull terrier. Another thing to note is that their Merle coat is a result of a gene mutation. This mutation may trigger unwanted traits like hearing or eyesight issues.

To avoid such problems in your Merle pitbull puppy, it is always a great idea to adopt from professional pitbull breeders. At Manmade Kennels, we have been in the breeding business for 16 years now. Our dogs are selectively bred to bring out the best qualities from the stud and dam.

All our dogs have a history of great health and we always screen any new dog we intend to breed with. Good pitbull breeders maintain the same desirable traits across several generations of puppies. Also,  they will ensure to weed out any unwanted traits that can downgrade the quality of new American bully puppies.

As Manmade Kennels, when we say we have the best Merle pitbull puppies for sale, best believe it.
